It’s been 60 years since Louise Soelberg, a modern dance instructor, had the fantastical idea to ask her employer Antioch College if she could set up a riding stable on their property. Through the years, Louise’s idea has turned into a place where a love and understanding of horses is taught through good horsemanship and made accessible to anyone who wants to learn, regardless of ability.
Thanks to the guidance of Carolyn Bailey, our Director, Manager, Head Riding Instructor, Master Therapeutic Riding Instructor, and a former student of Louise, Louise’s idea has turned into a fixture in Yellow Springs and surrounding communities, benefitting thousands of children and adults of all abilities. Thanks to the generosity of our donors who helped build our endowment and the support of our volunteers over the years, we look forward to what the future holds.
Thanks to everyone who participated in our 60th Anniversary Celebration and Fundraiser. You made it our most successful fundraiser ever!
