THE RIDING CENTRE'S ANNUAL RIDE-A-THON!

I'm excited about our upcoming annual Ride-A-Thon, one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, and I hope you are too! This is your chance to support our nonprofit mission to provide affordable horseback riding lessons and teach good horsemanship to anyone through your generous sponsorship of a rider.

The Ride-A-Thon is an obstacle course in which the rider maneuvers his or her horse through 10 challenges, at either a walk, trot, or canter. (Student riders will complete the Ride-A-Thon during their regular lesson next week.) The rider collects money from sponsors who pledge a donation for each challenge completed by the rider or simply donate a lump sum. Prizes will be awarded for the largest single donation collected, for the most money raised, and through a random drawing of participants.

The great part about the Ride-A-Thon is that it gives riders the opportunity to have fun while fundraising for the Riding Centre, which relies on donations to support our regular and therapeutic riding programs. All donations are tax deductible too.

Every year the donations raised through the Ride-A-Thon are earmarked for specific Riding Centre funds. Last year proceeds totaled over $3,700.00 for our Scholarship fund. This year all Ride-A-Thon proceeds will go to our Barns and Grounds fund. This fund allows us to maintain our facilities and pastures. Also, this year we are pleased that the Yellow Springs Community Foundation is one of the Ride-A-Thon's sponsors.

Specifically, this year's Ride-A-Thon proceeds will allow us to begin removal of invasive plants species such as honeysuckle from our fields, at the request of and in partnership with our landlord Antioch College.

Any amount you can afford will help to make this the best Ride-A-Thon yet!!

Thanks for your support.

Sincerely,

Carolyn
